DO NOT TRAMPLE THE CALM PEDESTRIAN
Four photographs and an installation featured in the exhibition. They are not few if we talk about Cristina Cherchi. They are more than enough to project ourselves into the world of the artist. I’m sorry, in the whirl of the artist.
Cristina uses a reproduction means as the pothograph, but spotlight, plasma and turns it in the notion that she has in her mind. A thought for a creative person continues to grow, to evolves, sometimes has the force of contradiction. This happens in these works, where the many readings are the result of this creative and philosophical process. Opened process from an intense dialogue with the nature, and with the complicated and surrounding reality. The images take us to the comparison with an upside-down world. This cosmos, apparently confused, gives a fantasy magic sense. One proposes like a refuge idealized in your hidden child. Later he communicates you the anguish, these images are not the heaven, they hide something. The dark colours warn you. The darkness is not heat but attention symbol. The alarm arrives. The objects of an innocent and ludic past, multiply to the infinite.
Where are we going? What will wait for us? Places well-known, pricked fixed in our minds appear as ghosts of memories far, silhouetted on the raw truth background. Forms to the appearance without sense turn themselves into voices that we have to listen. Silent shouting of our present reveals that the world, before judged absurd, is our world, spotless in the truth and shown from who, before us, been able to analyse with the heart all that surround us, then showing it to us without veils.
NON CALPESTATE I PALMI PEDONI
Quattro fotografie e un’installazione compongono la mostra. Non sono poche se parliamo di Cristina Cherchi…sono già più che sufficienti per proiettarci nel mondo dell’artista. Mi correggo, nel vortice dell’artista.
Cristina usa un mezzo di riproduzione come la fotografia, ma lo ribalta, lo plasma fino a trasformarlo nel concetto che ha in testa. Un pensiero nelle persone creative non rimane mai fisso per lungo tempo, al contrario continua a crescere ed evolversi, in alcuni casi arriva ad avere anche la forza di contraddirsi. È quello che accade in queste opere, dove le molteplici letture sono frutto di questo processo creativo e filosofico, sbocciato da un intenso dialogo con la natura e con la complicata realtà circostante. Le immagini ci portano al confronto con un mondo sotto sopra. In un primo istante questo cosmo all’apparenza confuso dona un senso di magia, di fantasia, si propone come rifugio idealizzato nel vostro fanciullino nascosto. Poi, lo stesso piccolo vi comunica l’angoscia, quelle immagini non sono paradisi, nascondono qualcosa, i colori scuri vi allertano, il buio non è più sinonimo di calore ma di attenzione. Arriva l’allarme, gli oggetti di un passato innocente e ludico si moltiplicano all’infinito. Dove stiamo andando? Che cosa ci aspetterà? Luoghi conosciuti, punti fissi nella mente di ciascuno di noi appaiono come fantasmi di ricordi lontani stagliati sullo sfondo di crude verità. Forme all’apparenza senza senso si trasformano in voci che non possiamo non ascoltare. Gridi silenziosi del nostro presente ci svelano che quel mondo prima giudicato assurdo è il nostro, specchiato nella verità, e mostrato da chi prima di noi ha saputo analizzare con il cuore ciò che ci circonda mostrandocelo poi senza veli.
